Grade Calculator
Find the final exam score you need to reach your target course grade.
Required final exam score
101.67%
This target may not be achievable with a 0–100% final exam score.
How to use
- Enter your current course grade and its weight (e.g. 70% of the grade).
- Enter your desired final grade and the final exam weight.
- See the minimum final exam score required.
Formula
Required final = (Desired grade − Current grade × Current weight) ÷ Final weight.
Current weight + Final weight should equal 100% (or less if other components exist).
Example
Current grade 85% (70% weight), want 90% final, final exam worth 30%:
Required final exam score = (90 − 85×0.7) / 0.3 ≈ 101.7% — not achievable; you'd need extra credit or a lower target.
